Nadifa Mohamed Hargeisa 1981 • Somalisch schrijfster zoek in hele site: the ledge - flash versie* *	Nadifa Mohamed was born in Hargeisa (now in the Republic of Somaliland) in 1981, while Somalia was falling deeper into dictatorship. In 1986 she moved to London with her family in what she thought was a temporary move, but ended up staying permanently when war broke out in Somalia. She studied History and Politics at Oxford and then returned to London,	where she still lives. Her first novel, Black Mamba Boy, based on her father's memories of his travels in the 1930s, was published in 2010. It was longlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction and the Dylan Thomas Prize and won the 2010 Betty Trask Prize. She is currently working on her second novel.
